Wolfburn Batch No.318 Bottling Note
Another excellent release from the Wolfburn Distillery all the way up in Thurso, Scotland. This single malt, dubbed Batch No.318, is a lightly peated expression, and was treated to a maturation in a combination of first-fill Oloroso sherry butts and bourbon barrels. There’s lots to love here with this one, a great example of Wolfburn’s brilliant whisky work.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Well-balanced between dried fruit and smoky oak, with a lingering hint of clove.
Palate: Cinnamon and more clove arrive first, mellowed by apple strudel and sherry-soaked raisins.
Finish: Cinder toffee, pear tart, a little hint of singed barley.
