Aberlour A’Bunadh Alba Bottling Note
Aberlour’s immensely popular A’Bunadh has grown with the introduction of A’Bunadh Alba! The name is a reference to Quercus Alba, which is the name of the American white oak which is used to age this very whisky. Drawn exclusively from first-fill American oak ex-bourbon barrels, this expression shows off a different side of Aberlour – you may be more familiar with its heavily sherried drams, but this one is more about fresh orchard fruits, shortbread, and almond notes.
Tasting Note
Nose: Apricot, grapefruit zest, marzipan, banana fritters, and a good helping of nutmeg.
Palate: Shortbread, green apple, caramel, more nutmeg now paired with a crackle of black pepper.
Finish: Toasted almonds and hints of orange peel.
